VWU Professor Invests in Students’ Futures With Special Gift
Dr. Charles Kessler believed profoundly in the value of a liberal arts education and devoted his professional life to it. A beloved professor of Religious Studies at Virginia Wesleyan for 22 years, Charles cared as much for his students’ lives as for their learning. As an ordained minister, he was proud to see many of his students later serve as pastors.
Paying tribute to his passion for education and the ministry, Charles and his wife, Viola, included Virginia Wesleyan University in their estate plan with a gift to establish the Charles and Viola Kessler Endowed Scholarship. This legacy gift will benefit students majoring in religious studies. Naming Virginia Wesleyan University as a beneficiary of their estate creates an expressive and meaningful investment in a young person’s future.
